A brand created to support the ocean, while giving people an alternative to conventional seafood.
The brand ‘Catfish’ is the end result of my bachelors thesis.
My biggest inspiration to creating this brand, was the ocean. It’s beautiful, it’s untameable and it’s dying.
It became my mission to finde a way to strengthen the relationship between the everyday consumer and the ocean.
I found out, through lots of research, that the biggest threat to the ocean and marine life is overfishing.
Fishing is a ginormous industrie, that pollutes and destroys everything in its way. 50% of certified sustainable fisheries, fish unethically. This is not only misguiding, but it’s downright lying to the consumer.
And that was exactly what let me to creating the brand ‘Catfish’
A catfish is not only a fish, and a MTV show from the early 2010’s, but also a person patenting to be somebody that they aren’t.
The name ‘Catfish’ plays in to the fact that the brand is selling plant based seafood, pretending to be the real deal.
